I have an unwanted program that has installed itself
within Windows (I have now changed my Firewall so it
shouldn't happen again).

The problem I have is that when I go into Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs and click on Change/Remove, nothing
happens.

Anyone know how I get rid of it? (I have done a search on
the machine and cannot find any files with the same name
to delete them manually).

Cheers,

Robin.

If you can discover the date this program installed, you
could use the System restore wizard (in Help and Support)
to select an earlier date: the system will then restore
you to a time when the unwanted program was not on your
computer. Of course, any system changes you may have
actually made since the chosen date will be lost as your
settings will be those of the chosen date. You will
however not lose any files, folders or data created by
you since that date. You would, for instance, have to
change your Firewall a second time.

I thank you for pointing this website out. I have myself
added it to Favorites. I would however remind Robin that
if you alter your registry, you need to back up your
current registry first in case you make a mistake. Again,
setting a System Restore point before you start the
process is the simplest way of achieving this.
