Did you look in Add/Remove programs?

Simply open add/remove programs,remove WMP 11,WMP 10 will auto
start up.11 can be removed,10 cannot...

Exactly, I accomplished this the other day. What happens
(as you're aware) is that clicking on uninstall rolls
back to the previous version which presumably is
what the writer wishes to do.
