Removing Unexisting Programs

I had a program called "MobiPocket Reader PC".At some point,I think I used
something else to remove it instead of the "Add or Remove Programs" feature
of Windows. The program is still displayed in the list and it won`t uninstall
when I press the "Remove" button.I scoured the computer looking for any files
of it and found a folder named "MobiPocket Reader PC" In it,there were 2
files, can`t remember what their extensions were, but they were not ".exe".I
opted for deleting the folder, went back to "Add or Remove" and the entry was
still there.Searching in here,I found a post were the advise was to go thru a
list of the "H Keys",look for the offending program folder, and delete
them.Well,I followed the instructions, but there was no folder named
"MobiPocket Reader PC" in any of them.

I don`t think the program depends on any other program or application,in
order for it to still appear on the "Add or Remove" menu, and if it does,I
have no idea of what it could be.

Any ideas on how to hunt this pesky entry and delete it from the "Add or
Remove" menu?

Well, before any one could respond,I came across the solution.Hopefully it
will help you too.

Run the registry editor "regedit"
Click on the "Edit" tab.
Click on "Find"
When the"Find" box pops out, type in the what section the name of the
offending program.
Beneath that,in the "Look At" section, chek the boxes for "Keys","Values" and
"Data".
Leave the "Match Whole String" unchecked.

You will see "Searching the Registry" running.Upon completion,it will
present you with it`s results, right click on it(first make sure you see the
name of the program first)and then click on delete. It will ask you if you are
sure,say yes or ok.

Keep runing the "Find" function until all instances of the program you want
to delete have been presented to you, making sure you delete every one of
them. You`ll be surprised how many times and places the program is present in
your system.

You`ll know when you have erased all of them because after running "Find"
for the last time it will return you with a message saying that it has
checked the entire registry.
