Removing TV commercials

What's a good free (or pay) software program that will cut out series of TV
commercials from a digitally recorded TV movie (mpeg-2 format)? Using
Windows XP SP2.

When I was looking for the same thing I couldn't find one that was free so I
bought videoredo. It works great for me but it is about $50.00.

You can sorta do this with VirtualDub. No really recommended, tho.
And VDub's author says explicity NO. But.. it can be done.
Go to videohelp.com and have a look-see what's there.
