Ok, since when has anybody used floppy drives? That's what I thought.
Is there any way to revmove the A drive icon from Explorer?

Go into the BIOS setup and disable the floppy drive.

I used a floppy about a week ago. I don't remember why.

I don't use mine often, but as a matter of fact I used it just yesterday.

That's what I thought.

No, it probably wasn't what you thought at all..

Why would you want to? There *are* times when they come in handy. Yesterday
I downloaded SATA drivers for running Vista on my motherboard and copied
them to a diskette. Even if you never use them, it doesn't hurt you to have
it in Explorer, and you never know when a need might pop up.

I use floppy drives and Floppy Emulated Bootable CD-Rs all the time.
Still a valuable hardware resource. I carry a USB Floppy in my tool
kit for on-site work.
If you want to remove the icon - just enter BIOS setup and disable the
Floppy disk controller and then set the Floppy mode = None.

Just last week, to flash a BIOS. Before that, many time to run
diagnostics on systems with questionable IDE controllers.

That's what I thought.

Arguable.

I use them all the time.

If it isn't HURTING anything (it's not), don't remove it.
Sure as shootin', you'll find a way to delete it, and a week later,
you'll want it.

I don't use mine daily, but I use it.

One of the reasons more and more vendors are not putting FDs in
systems is that they aren't going to give you stuff they can SELL you.

Good luck!
