Removing Square Box (Carriage Return) on right side of record

I have a module that moves a query from Access to Excel. Works grea
except that the one field which is a memo field containing records wit
a Carriage Return after each record displays in Excel with a square bo
to the right of each of the values
ie
A/I--1(square box)
A/I--2(square box) etc

Is there any formula I can apply in Excel to strip these square boxe
of f of the end of each record
