Removing spam from existing outlook folders

I know about spam removal software such as Spampal and k9 but I
think they work to remove Spam as they are downloaded from pop
accounts.

I ALREADY have downloaded thousands of messages from a pop
account and they are in an outlook 2000 folder. I would like
to have some software go through them and separate the spam
from the good ones.

Is there some free software that would do that?

You could create filters in OE for the known spam, them apply them to the
folders where the emails reside.
