Hi Jim,
Thank you for posting and I am glad that you have updated Windows XP with
Service Pack 2.
According to my understanding, all Uninstallation information of Service
Pack 2 stores under C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$. If you are sure
that you will not remove Windows XP Service Pack 2. You can delete this
folder, and then remove the below registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Windo
ws XP Service Pack
Please note once you delete the folder and the registry key. The only way
to revert it back to Windows XP or Windows XP Service Pack 1 is to format
the hard disk and reinstall the operating system.
