Removing previous Windows files

I have a HP laptop that came with Windows ME installed on it. I recently
installed Windows XP on it and was wondering if I can remove the Windows ME
files. Disk cleanup is showing that it takes about 560,000 KB and I'd like
to free up that space. if I can. It says I can remove it if I don't plan on
using ME again (which I don't) but I just want t be sure.

If you are sure you are never going back to ME, then yes you can remove
those files.
