I am using XP "disk management" to format partions on a CF card. These are
for CF cards previously FBA's with the EWF. I have been setting up a
smaller partiion for XP and leaving extra room on the CF card for an
additional Partition so it will not be Write filtered. I can't seem to get
the CF card to be fully available so I can expand the first partition to a
larger size. I think this is an aspect of XP putting in a small partition
for the EWF. How do I recoup this?

David,

I don't understand what's problem you have with Disk Manager but you can use
fdisk or diskpart tools to delete any "hidden" partition on your CF.
Also, such great tools like Partition Magic or Paragon Partition Manager
(Windows versions) will help you to accomplish what you want to.

Here I use NT4 (which shows all partitions on a drive the same size, very
handy) but Roger who's taking over from me apparently uses delpart.

Problem with Windows XP is that it is aware of EWF partition id and it hides
it so user can't see it.
Like you said from diskpart.exe you can see it and delete it.
Also etprep.exe should be able to do it.

Got it.
Under NT, 2K or XP I have been using my favorite Paragon Partition Manager
so I have not had that problem :-)
