Removing files from Folders on XP Pro?

Don't dare tell you how it occurred, but My Music files are all in
specified folders (Classical, Holidays, Shows, etc - I did not do it!). So,
of course, I cannot pull a midi in to utilize for an email, etc. Can they be
removed from a folder easily? How do you suggest doing it regardless?

Thank you.

I apologize ...

Normally, my music files are not organized into folders. Someone was helping
me and catagorized them into Folders - so one folder might have 20-30 midis,
for example. However, when I went to insert one into a graphic the entire
folder had to be inserted because 1 midi could not be accessed.

So, now I have to move all of them out of 9 folders - so they are merely in
alphabetic order. Is there a quick way to move files out of folders into the
usual display in My Music?

I am using XP Pro, all updates current, and Office 2003.

I hope this is clearer to you.

It sounds like you are inserting the whole folder and not just the
single midi file. You are complaining that there are many folders now,
but if all the files were in 'My Music', inserting the way you are
describing would insert all the files in the folder.

If by chance the program you are using can only access the 'My Music'
folder, then navigate to the folder than contains the midi file, click
once on the file and press Ctrl-C to copy the file. Then navigate to the
'My Music' folder and press Ctrl-V to paste the file.

To move the files, open Explorer and click the Folder button. Navigate
to a folder with files and click on the right pane. Press Ctrl-A to
select all the files, then press Ctrl-X to cut the files from that
folder, then click once on the 'My Music' folder and press Ctrl-V to
paste the files into 'My Music'. Do that with each folder.

Yes, but the music files are now all in different, catagorized folders.
Thefore, they're not accessible to pull into an email, or graphic design -
the whole darn folder would be though, but u selss.

I can send you a screen shot, but it looks like a Word directory, Folders
holding separate midi and wav files -

prior to this nut helping me (computer tech who installed a new mouse - I'm
vision-impaired) all the music files were merely in My Music in alphabetical
order. Not in folders.

Someone put my midis into folders - that's why. Before they were all
separate midi, wav files, etc.

Not using any program, per se, merely click on Insert, and go to My Music,
which heretofore showed all music files in alpha order. Now, they've been
put into separate folders - as you said.

then navigate to the folder than contains the midi file, click

Done! Thank you! I can sleep now.
