Removing failed dcpromo dc's from site and services

I've been trying to add a second DC to my domain but keep getting 'schema mistmach' errors.
In the process there are now three failed dcprom dc's displayed in my site under site and services snap-in.
Can I just right click and delete all three or is there a different procedure I should follow?Thanks for any help

Different procedure.

The standard way is to use the NTDSUtil "Metadata cleanup"
section.

It's tedious but fairly easy. Just search Google for this:

[ ntdsutil | "ntdsutil.exe" "metadata cleanup" remove DC | domain
