I have a drive showing on My Computer that doesn't exist - it was a drive on
a dual-boot system which has been changed. How do I remove this Drive Icon
from My Computer? (It's the only place this icon shows.....)

XP Pro SP2 with all updates.

Thanks

Run regedit.exe and navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices.
Now delete the non-existing drive and reboot the machine.

Unfortunately, I can't identify the drive in that Registry key. My Computer
shows it as drive W: but there's no drive W: showing in that key!

How do I identify it?

Mmh. Don't know about that one. Try this:
- Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type these commands:
mountvol > c:\vol.txt
notepad c:\vol.txt
- Paste the text into your reply. Does it show drive W:?
- What drive letters are shown in DosDevices?

Found the answer. It must have been a throwback from an installation of
Ext2IFS
http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/ext2ifs.htm

which I'd /thought/ I'd uninstalled and had re-installed. I have just
uninstalled it again(!) and rebooted. The errant drive is no longer there,
but my /real/ Linux drives now are.

Thanks for the help.
