I have a program on my pc that has no "uninstall" feature. When I try
to remove it from the Control Panel, it asks for the CD. This is a
program that I downloaded and do not have a CD for it. Is there a way
I can safely delete the program? I have a new DVD burner that I'd like
to install but do not want to do so until I can delete the program.

Thank you for any help

Which program is this? If you really want to get rid of the program
then simply zap the folders where the program files reside. This should
free up most of the HD space.

There are some dll files in System32 folder but these can remain there
for now until next time you come to format the HD.

Registry can be cleaned with easycleaner but again I wouldn't worry
about this.

Maybe if you gave the name of the program someone might be familiar with
it. Also check with the program's tech support for help on uninstalling it.

If the offender works and uses only a small amount of space, leave i
there

If it's not shown in add remove programs, you have to find it on th
root directory, "C:" and simply delete it and any shortcut
to it

Go into regedit via "run" and remove any reference to it
and it should cause you no dramas, sure there may be some referenc
to it, but with the main folder clean it's just there in name only

The program is Dragon Naturally Speaking and it puts all kinds of crazy
files on any new audio CD that I've burned. I want to get rid of this
annoyance before I venture into burning DVDs. I've deleted the
"ScanSoft" folder from my program files (which contained the program) and
I do find a LOT of files referencing "DRAGON" when I look into regedit.
I'm afraid to delete them because I do not like messing with regedit.

Thank you to all for your help!
