Removing a scanner

I have Word 2000 and Windows XP. I installed an Aiptek scanner, then got a better Canon scanner and installed it. When I try to "Insert - Picture - from scanner or camera", the Aiptek scanner comes up first in the list. I've done an add/remove program for the Aiptek scanner in Windows settings, but the Aiptek scanner still appears in the list (although selecting it, Word is smart enough to use the only existing scanner, namely the Canon). This is only irritating, but is there some way to remove the Aiptek scanner from the list?
 
You may have removed the software, but not the hardware
and associated driver. Try finding the Aiptek scanner in
your Device Manager (Control Panel/System) and removing
it from there.
