Hi Com Julio,
You mention that you want only one version of XP and no partitions. It
sounds to me like you have parallel installs on seperate partitions. For
the same of illustration, say that you have a copy of XP on C: and a copy
of XP on D: and that the default booting version is the one installed on C:
If this is true, you can remove the second of our two partitions and the OS
that is on it will go away with it. You will then need to update the
Boot.ini file on C:\ to no longer list the second boot option (Windows XP
on D
The problem with this approach is that while you will have only one OS
installed on only one partition, you will loose the space that was formerly
your secomd or D: partition The only easy way in Windows XP to reclaim
that lost space would be to create a new partition, but then you would be
back to two seperate partitions again.
Fortunately thewre are some good 3rd party disk partitioning programs that
allow you to dynamically resize partitions. One example is Partition Magic.
I use this program to add/remove and change the size of partitions. THere
are probably other programs that provide this functionality.
