Can I upgrade to XP Pro on one computer that has XP Home on it
and then use the XP Home on another computer?
Hmmmm...
Not so sure I agree there. In the strictest sense of what was said - maybe
it is true, the answer is 'No' - but the original poster (OP) left much
wiggle-room for ambiguity and lack of a few defining factors.
Example...
Let's say the OP does own a full retail version of Windows XP Home Edition
(odds are against this - but it happens). Now let's say the OP purchases a
Full Retail (not just upgrade) Windows XP Professional Edition (odds are
against this as well, but it does happen.) The OP is free to upgrade/clean
install Windows XP Professional Edition on said computer and then use their
Retail version of Windows XP Home Edition where-ever they desire.
Given that all of that is less likely than the fact the OP purchased a
system that came with Windows XP Home Edition (likely OEM) and now has gone
out and purchased a Retail Upgrade version of Windows XP Professional
Edition (not a full retail - just the upgrade) - the answer of 'no' may
generally be true - but cannot be given with 100% certainty without further
confirmation of the situation from the OP.
