Hi,

Can you say "Oops!"? Why on earth would he do that?

In any case, the only way back is the hard way. If he converted to NTFS
during setup, then he will need to repartition first by running fdisk and
removing the non-dos partition, then create a primary dos one. Otherwise,
boot the system with a Win98 startup floppy and format the system partition
(if there are other fat/fat32 partitions they can be left intact), then
reinstall Win98.

If there is data to be recovered, pull the drive and slave it in another
system to copy off the data first before proceeding.

Greetings --

The normal way to "uninstall" _any_ operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

However, if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to
backup the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS,
then all you need do is boot into Safe Mode and Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions _must_ be met for the
uninstall option to be available.
