I'm wondering if there's a way to remove the Windows XP Activation key
in a way that when the machine is restarted XP will prompt for the key.
The reason is that I have a Virtual PC image with my company's software
on it that I need to give to a couple of our partners, but I wan't to
force them to use their own XP license for the image.
Any creative alternatives to accomplish this would be welcomed!

Lots of assumptions there - like their keys and your keys are the same type
(OEM, REATIL, UPGRADE..)

But look into SysPrep.
