Remove watermark from a scetion or cover

Trying without success to remove a watermark from the cover of a document I am writing - tried the Header Footer route , section break route which do not appear to work

Ideas gratefully receive

Try, "Format", "Background", "Printed watermark". Click the "No watermark"
option (assuming Word 2002 or 2003).
