How can I remove the User Level Security in Access 2000?

I can log in as an Admin but I can't remove the security?

Thanks

Barry

Login into database as admin

Go to security menu

Click on User Level Security Wizard

Check all boxes

Click OK

It will display a message box teeling you that your
database will be unsecured. It then displays a dialogue
box allowing you to name and locate it as a new database
with all the objects inatct but unsecure - the old
database remains as is.

You need to blank the Admin password.

not sure if 2000 is different from 97 but in 97 i would:

Tools>Security>User and group Accounts

Click Clear password.

the next time you log on it should not prompt for a
password.

Log in as a user that has administer permissions.

Give the Users Group full permissions on all objects.
Quit Access.
Use Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe to ensure that you are joined to the standard
system.mdw.
Open Access (you should get no login)
Create a new database and import all objects from your secure database.
This new mdb will be unsecured.

That will remove the login prompt, but that doesn't unsecure the mdb. In
fact, if it is secured properly, clearing the password for Admin will mean
no one will be able to get in.

my bad.

Security FAQ:

34. How can I "de-secure" a database?
You must have Administer permissions and/or be a member of
the Admins group in the workgroup information file that
helped protect the database. Grant full permissions to the
Users group and the Admin user account. Put the Admin user
back in the Admins group and remove the password from the
Admin user. You will not be prompted for a logon ID and
password once the password is removed from the Admin user.

I missed a step. After granting the Users Group full permission, put the
Admin user back in the Admins Group.
