While experimenting with the security settings, I seem to have password
protected my database. (I DO know the password!) However, I'd like to
remove ALL security from this database at the moment. I don't want to be
prompted for UserName / password on opening the database.
How can I do this?

Thanks for your help.

Well, somehow I really screwed up. I can't get into the database at all!!!
It tells me I haven't got the permissions necessary. It doesn't ask for a
password...

Can anyone help???

I seem to have gotten some control back. I can open the database now. I'd
still like to know how to remove all security. I have two files in the
folder with the mdb - security.ldb and security.mdw. What do these files
do??

Sorry for the dumb questions...

Hi Stephen,

The .ldb file is a locking database file. See the following KB article for more information:

Your security questions should be answered by reading the following document. The information in
this document also applies to Access 2002 and 2003:

I don't know if my situation is equivalent, but when I had a password
protected database, I simply made a copy of it (while accessing it
with the correct password) to aonther database, and did not protect
that new database.

Thanks all. After lots of wailing, rending of clothes and pulling of hair,
I figured it out...
