I uninstalled a program from the 'add or remove programs'
section of control panel - the program in question likely
had its own uninstall program & thu sleft a fragment
behind: the program name remains on the 'add or remove
programs'page, but the remove command doesn't work since
the 'uninstall.exe' file has been removed.

Can you tell me where the file used to store the listings
of the programs that appear on the 'add or remove
programs' page is located. I am unable to reload the
program and properly run its imbedded uninstall.

TIA, G

It's not a program. Its in registry editor (regedit)
The key is
hkey_localMachine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall
Look for the reference to your program in the list of
uninstall data. You will need the name of the program in
order to locate it in the stack of sub-keys.
