Remove Previous Changes

My understanding on Microsoft Office or at least Word and
maybe some of the other applications as well is that if
that Track Changes is on, is when you have it on, it will
retain all the changes in the document. There is an
Accept and Reject button that I always thought erased the
history so if you share that document the user of that
document, the new user, cannot get back into the prior
history. I think that isn’t true, and somebody is telling
me there is a patch out called Hidden Edit, Remove Hidden
Edit or something like that that would actually take the
history out of the document so that when you share it
you’re not sharing all those changes that might have been
made as that document was created or shared here
internally. I haven't had any luck finding this. Does
anyone know about this or a way to remove changes so they
cannot be viewed by other users?

Thanks,
Dave

There is a Remove Hidden Data tool available at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=144E54ED-D43E-42CA-
BC7B-5446D34E5360&displaylang=en, but it is very buggy. If you turn Track
Changes off *and* accept or reject all changes, there will not be any
tracking left in the document. But see "HOW TO: Minimize Metadata in
Microsoft Word 2002" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290945
