I have a Dell laptop with XP Pro that use to logon to a
domain at work. I want to logon to a home network but
cannot since the laptop wants to get on the domain at work.

I want to totally remove that domain reference in the
system.

When I try to use the network setup wizard it cannot
complete because the laptop belongs to a domain.

How do I remove the reference to that domain since I do
not need it anymore?

Thanks,
Charles Halla

System Properties, Computer name, change.

Make sure that you are not using this at work anymore. Your IT people will
have to rejoin you if you are.

Thanks for you help.

Try create a new hardware profile.

Open Control Panel\Perf and
Maintnence\System\Hardware\Hardware Profiles

Try MultiNetwork Manager 7 from GlobeSoft.com this
product will let you have multiple domain configurations
for easy restore, it will do much more than adding a new
hardware profile
well worth the price
