Remove "background color" of email text in Outlook 2000

Someone sent me an email message from which I'd like to "copy and paste" some
of the text into an outgoing message, but the "original text" has a
background color that also gets "copied" when I "paste" it into my new
message. How can I remove or "disable" this background text color in my
out-going message?

Is the whole message background changing or just a small square?

if you only want the text, paste it into notepad first and copy it again,
then paste.

Actually, the colored "background" is only on the text I was trying to copy -
almost as if it had been "highlighted" by 'highlighter pen', as it were....
so yes, I suppose it is a "small square" or "rectangle" that "surrounds" the
text.
I suppose if I didn't have this dang head cold, it probably should've
occurred to me to "paste" to Notepad first then "transfer" to the outgoing
message....
Thanks for the input...

Forward the message and change the format to Plain Text. When you have the
info you want, close without sending.
