is there a way to flush out all video and audio drivers for good, so I
can reinstall just the ones I need from scratch? I could hunt and
destroy each one individually, but I'd rather find an automated tool if
it exists.

free version for video drivers

You can also remove device, in Hardware Devices, reboot, cancel
wizard and install manually

thanks, that was the first tool I headed for, however it doesn't seem to
head for loaded/registered video/audio drivers like I hoped.
anything else?
