Need help with adjusting which letter is assigned to my memory stick drive
b/c my external hard drive was once G:, but for some reason it has switched
to E: and i'm trying to avoid having to reload shortcuts for music and other
files. Anybody have suggestions/answers? thanks in advance

Run regedit.exe, navigate to HKLM\System\MountedDevices and
rename \DosDevices\E: to DosDevices\G:

Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage.

Find the Storage category and under it, choose Disk Management (Local).

Right-click on current drive letter and choose Change Drive Letter and
Paths.

When the drive appears in the dialog window, choose Change.

Select drive letter you want to use then click OK.

If G: is not free(taken by another device), first move the other device to a
different drive letter.
