I have a Minolta digital camera. when i had WInME, the
driver worked fine, and the camera was recognized by my
computer.

now i just installed WinXP. everything works but my
camera interface. printer, scanner, modem, ethernet card,
etc all work fine. but when i try to load the drivers
that came with the camera, the drivers button is greyed
out. they say it is because XP already has these drivers.
but now when i plug in my camera, on the camera it says "
initializing usb interface" and then stays that way until
i unplug it, and XP never realizes that it is plugged in.
what gives>??

I talked to minolta's tech support and they said that
winxp should recognize it automatically, and if it
wasn't, it was a XP problem with drivers for XP that runs
removable drive type interfaces. and to look for answers
here. unfortunately, i have a oem version of xp and i
cannot get free tech support. :"(

update your XP ... it should work .....
was there any CD ROM with the camera for drivers ...... follow the following
process

1. Uninstall all Minolta drivers associated to the camera
2. Reboot( most probably it will ask for it if not still reboot)
3. Update windows XP
4. Reboot( most probably it will ask for it if not still reboot)
5. Install all drivers for Minolta
6. Reboot ( most probably it will ask for it if not still reboot)

it should work now
