Hi,
Besides calling the vendor, how can I tell if the
removable bit of my Sandisk CompactFlashcard is set and
thus bootable?

Maarten

Your CF should be bootable without setting removable bit.

You can check this by examining how XP sees this CF.
Or if you can create more than one partition then it is marked as
non-removable.

Thanks Slobodan,

At this point we (I) are still testing, prototyping,
designing and brainstorming, so the CF is not yet
available. I thought that only non-removable CF can be
booted, but if it doesn't matter, than I have a worry less.

Thanks again,
Maarten

If I understand correctly, the problem with removable is
that EWF has to create a temp partition, which it can't on
removable. This can be solved (if neccessary) by using
your RAMEWF.
What will be the consequences of doing that?

You are right.

Unfortunately I don't have any removable CF to try.
And no one else seems interested to try.

It should work, but I really don't know.

If you have some removable CF, let us know of your findings.
