Remote monitoring of computer

I have a machine with Win XP Pro running 24/7 as home server.
It would be very interesting for me to see the current status of this server
remotely in order to have it under control.

My idea:
a) The computer regularly (e.g. every 24h) creates a text file containing
the data of interest, such as CPU load, memory usage, disk status, system
messages, etc. either as a snapshot or as log.
b) This file then is sent to an email address I could configure.

For the email part I already have a solution. I would use a software I
already have to put it onto my ftp and notify me with an email.

For the snapshot or log file I'm still unclear how to to.

Does anybody have an idea, how I could realize this?

Many thanks in advance for any advice!

Use UltraVNC and keep the control 24/24 instead of one time per 24 H.
