Remote Desktop

I am trying to use Remote Desktop from outside our office
network. When connected locally, no problem. From the
internet, the connection can't find the IP address.
Our internet is supplied via cable modem and then hooked
through a router.

You must use the public address of your router then port forward in your
router the remote desktop port to the LAN address of the computer you want
to access.
 
Its best to use a static IP on your desktop. Forward TCP Port 3389 through the router to the private
LAN IP (static is preferred) of desktop. Call using the public IP of the router.
