So you two are having an issue with vague descriptions and generalities?
Perhaps if you would be a bit more specific about your setup and trouble,
someone could help you. At this point, we know you are trying to use remote
desktop. We do not know which OS you are using, what your connection to the
Internet is, if you have a firewall (or DSL/Cable modem router) in use, what
errors, if any, you are seeing, etc.

Perhaps you could post back - IN THE NEWSGROUPS IN THE SAME THREAD - and
give us a bit more detail concerning your situation and issue surrounding
that situation?

Well, going by vague descriptions, this is all I can provide.
- Some connection must exist between the two, be it over a LAN or
Internet-based.
- The remote computer must be running Windows XP Professional.
- You need to have an account on the remote computer and know its
username and password.
- You'll need to know the remote computer's name (if on a LAN) or its
IP address (LAN or Internet).
- A firewall in between must be configured to allow inbound and
outbound traffic on TCP port 3389.

i'm having similar probs as well, im using all xp pro machines i can remote
to everybody elses machine but mine. i can do this both inside and outside
the firewall but when it comes to accessing my machine it doesnt work. i
have sp 2 and yes the firewall on it is down. i also opened port 3389 for
this as well. also i am running symantec and i disabled that as well. i keep
getting same error "cannot connect to this computer maybe due to traffic or
to local connection may not be enabled"
