Hi Everyone,

Here is the problem....i setup Remote Desktop Web
Connection in my Home Network and it works fine only in my
Lan.

When i try to test the wan connection from my Lan using my
ISP ip i can connect to the Host computer and i get right
the way this error:

"VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected

Because of an error in data encryption, this session will
end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again."

I press the ok button and my connection is closed.

What is weird is that i get this error only when i am
using the wan ip.

I have dsl and use a linksys Nat Router.

I setup Port forwarding to 3389 and my web port changed
from default to my Host win XP.

I checked all my settings in my Nat / Router and i can not
find anything wrong?????? any ideas....

Block WAN Request: Enable
Multicast Pass Through: Enable
IPSec Pass Through: Enable
PPTP Pass Through: Enable

I try a lot of different settings combinations but so far
i still get the error when i connect.

Let me know....

Don't take anything from me as the gospel, because I can't even connect through my LAN. But, I use a VPN to connect to my company's servers and I must DISABLE Block WAN request to get through.

You indicated that you have that setting enabled. Try disabling it......................

thanks for your reply...but i already tried that and still
the same....

I might have found something though....

It could be because data compression is enabled which is
normal on IIS but can be turn off

I am working on it....any other ideas..

You must forward port 80 as well as 3389 to your host computer for Remote
Desktop Web to work

Lucky

Hi Lucky,

Well i tried to as well forward the port 80 to the host
but it did not work....still the same error.

I don't think i need to use the port 80 though as i change
this port already to a bigger #63555 so port 80 is not in
service.

I for the heck of it....

Put my host on my DMZ port....same

Any other ideas??

Sorry reread you first post am I did not realize that you had changed port
80 am I to under standing this right you are try to test this form with in
your own LAN this will not work you must try form out side the LAN with the
wan ip so un less you have two independent internet accounts you will have
to try from friends house
