Remote Desktop Update Bad, bad, bad

I installed the remote desktop update from the MS update site. Now, when i go
to my desktop from my laptop to read my outlook mail, outlook freezes up.
Then the computer has to be rebooted. So, I uninstalled the update. what's up
with this?

I have installed this update and use Outlook 2003 and have not experienced this problem?!
