Hi All,
I have a home lan and i would like to able to connect to the other computers
in my lan through a remote desktop from my main computer. whats the best
software to do that? i prefer if it was user-friendly and at the same time
has advanced features.

thank you.

If the other PCs are running XP Pro then look at the built-in Remote Desktop functionality...

If the PCs are running XP Home/W2K/Win Me/W9X then an alternative is VNC. I like and use UltraVNC to
access/control non-XP Pro desktops...

Over the public internet I recommend using Remote Desktop and VNC (any flavor) through a SSH or VPN
tunnel for additional security...
