I was using win98 remote desktop to work with a distant winnt server,
and the window it opened was a well-behaved 800x600, which did fine on
my 1280x1024 screen.

NOW I'm using win2k to access it, and the thing wants to default to
fullscreen, and if I run in window it gives me scrollbars that I have to
use to see the full desktop.

HELP says I can reset this with Settings, but all it gives me is
1280x1024 or bigger.

How can I get back to using 800x600 window, with the full remote desktop
on that?

indistinguishable from paranoia.

If you run Microsoft's Remote Desktop product then you should
be able to operate in full screen mode at all times, without any
scroll bars. Type mstsc.exe in the Run box of your Win2000 PC,
then click Options / Display to vary your current settings.

Thanks, but that is exactly what I do not want to do. I want to run in
800x600 window, with the full remote desktop showing in that, just like
it used to.
