Hello,

I have made a Xpe image with the Remote Desktop Connection functionality.
The problem with the RDC is: after the remote session is ended form our
helpdesk the customer must manual logon to the system.
The system has no keyboard, so we have a problem.

The other problem is, our helpdesk want to see the same screen that see the
customer (at the same time..)

Is this possible with Xpe ? configure the RDC like PCAnywhere or VDC ? or
use a other Remote support component.

Johan,
XP only allows for a single user to be logged on at any given moment, so
when you log in with Remote Desktop you are using an account, therefore your
session will logout anyone that is currently logged in. I would recommend
using VNC from AT&T, this interacts with the current desktop and so
therefore a local user and a remote user see the same thing.

Sean's right, remote desktop won't allow that.

However, two other solutions are:
1. What you're asking for is identical to Remote Assistance though.
When the remote user takes control of the desktop, the local user is
still logged in.

2. I think Netmeeting's "Desktop Sharing" will do this as well.

Andy, Sean,
Thank you for your quick responce,
Do you have more information about the netmeeting “desktop sharing†solution
?
I have 2 component in my database “Netmeeting version 5.1.260,R620†and the
“Netmeeting hotfix Q835732â€
Or is it simple add the component to my run-time image and go :) ...

Johan.

Only the hotfix version will be accessible to you in the TD component
browser. just add it and run check dependencies, it fixes a problem
with the remote desktop sharing in the original component.

From full xp pro, look at the help content from within netmeeting, it's
got much more info on remote desktop sharing. Enjoy.
