I have a home network with three machines. One with XP Pro, one with
XP home and one with Win 98. I have Remote Desktop enabled on the pro
machine. I have installed the client on the 98 machine. From the XP
home and 98 machine I launch the Client, enter the IP of the pro
machine. I get the login prompt and enter an administrator user ID for
the XP Pro machine. The login box disappears and after 10 to 20
seconds the screen turns blue and the client closes , apparently
without logging on.

I have a Netgear FVS318 router. All other network functions seem to be
working. All comuters appear up in mshome group.

Does your XP Pro machine happen to run the latest NVidia drivers? If
so, disable the NVidia display service.. This will stop this
problem...
