Hi there guys.

I have this problem for a while and for the like of me I cannot find out the
cause.

Almost all of the time when I connect to my work's server using the "Remote
Desktop Connection" my whole computer freezes. This did not happen when
using Windows 2000 previously.

While this happens, I usually have the internet radio happening from
Singapore. Thinking that this might be the cause, I disable the radio for
the meantime and connect remotely. Although it seems to work a little
better, it still eventually freezes.

The event logs shows nothing but it shows that the log started after I
turned back on the computer.

I was hoping that Service Pack 2 would help this out but it didn't.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and knows a good fix.

The computer system are as follows.

Pentium 4 3.2-GHz
Asus P4C800 with Intel 875 Chipset (wireless disabled)
1-Gb TwinMOS RAM specifically suited to the motherboard.
40-Gb Seagate (ST340014A) HDD (partioned C:\ & D:\ being C:\ the operating
system only and D:\ all the software.
120--Gb Seagate (ST3120026A) HDD for the data.
Sony DDU-1611 DVD-ROM Drive
Sony DRU-700 DVD RW Drive.
The usual cards and accessories.

The broadband connection is Telstra Bigpoond Cable (If anyone know
Australia's Telstra)
Motorola Surfboard SB4200 Cable modem connected to a PCI ethernet Realtek
RTL-8139 100-Mb Network Card.

Windows XP has been recently upgraded to Service Pack 2 and previously all
upgrades have been made.

Kindest regards

This isn't going to be simple to diagnose remotely, I suspect.

You might try using MSCONFIG to exclude all third-party drivers to get a
relatively clean boot and see whether that keeps the issue from happening,
and then add drivers in one-by-one.
