Remote connections over the lan

I want to remotely run Windows Media Player and access
all the music that resides on my family room pc from
other pc's in the house that are on the same lan so I can
create playlists and cd's while sitting in my office
rather than the family room. Is this possible with XP
Home or do I need to upgrade to Pro? If I need to
upgrade, do I need to upgrade all the pc's?

Thanks, Bryan

You could upgrade the family room PC to XP Pro and use Remote Desktop to access it from your office
PC and redirect sound at the same time. The downside is that others could not concurrently use the
family room PC while you were logged in as a Remote Desktop client.

Personally, I don't know if there are any remote audio redirectors out on the market or not...
