anyone here with any ideas on how I can create a shortcut
to WXP Remote Assistance that enables me to circumnavigate
having to go through the Help & Support center?

It's becoming a bit of a pain in the neck!!!

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select New > Shortcut.
2. In the box type or copy and paste the following:

%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\rcimlby.exe -LaunchRA

3. Next, type in a name for the shortcut, such as Remote Assistance.

Carey,

Thanks for your prompt reply, though I was hoping to
create a specific shortcut to the "Offer Remote
Assistance" window. Is it possible to do this with a
different command line switch?

No, all Remote Assistance sessions go through Help and Support
to insure security.

No, they do not just go through Help and Support. Windows Messenger is needed to use RA, and it in no way insures security.

Try using this in the path of the Shortcut:

"%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
hcp://CN=Microsoft%20Corporation,L=Redmond,S=Washington,C=US/Remote%20Assistance/Escalation/Unsolicited/Unsolicitedrcui.htm

It will take you directly to the Offer Remote Assistance Window.
