Is there a way I can access my home computer from other
locations? I hear you can use the internet connection,
access the hard drive and use other system resources of a
computer from a remote location (provided both computers
are running Windows XP).

Could somebody please outline the steps I would have to
take to make this possible? Or point me in the direction
of a knowledge base with a description of how to make
this possible?

Thanks!

Thanks, Chris. If the computer I'm trying to access is
running Windows XP Home am I not able to access it
remotely?

You can access you home computer from other locations using Remote
Access Solutions. There are many available nowadays. We are using
RemotePC (http://www.remotepc.com/)
RemotePC can display screens of other computers to which you have
access remotely using the Internet on to your desktop. It allows you to
use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely.
It works very efficiently from dialup connections to LAN setups. And
since it works behind most firewalls without any special port settings,
it lets you access the remote computer without any hassle.

Hill
