I am trying to find a way to get Windows Vista Mail's reminders in the
calendar to pop up on my Windows Desktop or at least on my Windows Mail main
screen. Now it only pops up if I am in the canendar area.

I also have the problem of vista mail nor displaying reminders unless the
calendar is open. Even outlook 2000 does this so why not mail? Can anyone
come up with a fix please, this includes MS.

thanks gary, but having paid for windows mail I feel MS should make it work
at least as well as outlook 2000 but i will get live mail as a standby.

Good luck getting Microsoft to fix Windows Mail. :-)
You've heard of the 'lemon law' in connection with buying a new car?
One of the accepted remedies for getting a lemon is to substitute a new car.
Well, Microsoft has done so, the newer model now being named
Windows Live Mail. So their obligation to you is fulfilled.

If you open the calendar page, go to file and options there is a check box "
reminder should show when calendar not open" I have tried this but still
does not work.

This is how to get it to work. Microsoft please note..
Set your dates in calendar but then minimise (do not close) then when you
finish with the pc save your session and settings (do not shut down) when you
then open windows the next time if there is a reminder it will flag up on the
screen. Make sure in windows calendar file, options, flag is set to remind
when not running and you always leave the calendar on the current day
