Remastering?

I took my computer to pc-world for a health-check because the cd/dvd drive
were not working or showin up in my computer. Anyway they told me i would
need to renaster it? The problem is i'm not sure what remastering i or how to
do it? could anyone give me some advice?

Try running the little utility on this web page:
http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm

Look in section 8, "Problems", and click on the link for the registry
patch - it is labeled "download it here" - that often times corrects the
type of problem you are experiencing.
