RELOADING COMPUTER

I was working on my computer on Sat night when the whole thing crashed! Left
with nothing but a picture! Had to use my Reload CD so now i am back to
scratch - but of course have lost everything that was sitting on my computer
- including lots of photos!! Is there any way i can retrieve anything at all?
Or am i completely stuffed? Computer is 8 years old and this is the first
serious problem i have had.

What you have learned from this diaster is that you need to make
backups of important data. You have probably lost everything unless
you pay big bucks to some data recovery company, and then they may
only be able to retrieve very little data.
