Okay, here is the situation. A couple of years ago I
purchased a Compaq computer from Circuit City. It was a
display model so they didn't have the original software
CDs. It came loaded with XP Home Edition.
As time has passed and I have pretended to know more than
I do, I have managed (effortlessly) to alter some key
parts to my OS that still allow it to function but not the
way it should.
I purchased a Non Registered Full Version of XP Home in
hopes of doing a clean reinstall that would "fix" any of
my adventures.
Is there a way to do this without losing any data?

Carey, thanks for the link. I have another and maybe more
important question that I probably should have asked
first. Since I didn't have the original CD I purchased one
off of eBay. The buyer informed me, after I bought it,
that it had been activated but never registered. Will I be
able to use this on my PC?
