hi, i made the mistake of trying to re-install xp home
without removing my original copy. when i first started
the install was going fine until the end when a screen
came up asking if i wanted to repair my current version of
xp or delete it and re-install. so i chose to repair it
but now the computer just starts the install fromt eh
begining, and ends up with the same screen, repair or
delete and install a new one. if i wanted to delete and
re-install, the My Documents folder might be deleted. the
problem i have is, i have about 15 to 20 gigs of data that
i can not delete in the My Documents folder. is there any
way to fix the hard drive with out losing my data? what i
was thinking of doing is taking the messed up hard drive
and putting it as a slvae on my older computer,
transfering the vital files i have to an old hard drive,
then finish the installation by deleting the current copy
of xp and re-installing it. does that sound reasonable?
