I'm installing a new Hard drive & need to reinstall Windows....the problem is
that I don't have the oringinal Windows CD that came with the computer or the
product key #.....can I purchase another Key or do I have to purchase a new
OS CD??

Write to the computer manufacturer and see if they will provide you with a
replacement disk for a nominal fee. Look on and in the computer cabinet for
a sticker containing the product key. Is the hard drive in the PC still
functional?

If you have neither the CD or the key, perhaps contacting the computer
vendor would allow purchase of a replacement copy.

In order to install Windows on a new hard drive, you need an installation cd
AND a product key. Is this a home built or purchased (OEM) pc?

If it was a retail license and you have proof of purchase:

If it was an OEM license, you should contact the computer's
manufacturer.
