i have windows xp pro.
my internet explorer was broken, and i hadn't re-installed windows for over
a year now, so i re-installed windows (refreshing the windows directory
without partitioning my hard drive so i wouldn't lose any data) like i've
always done.
however, this time, it appears that i have lost access to my original account.
all my video and music files in my "my documents" folder and original
desktop folder haven't been lost, but i can't log-in to the original account,
as in my original desktop contents won't show. it seems that a new folder in
my documents and settings directory has been created. i can access all the
files on the original account that was my default account prior to the
reinstallation by clicking on a different folder in the documents and
settings folder, but is there any way i can change my default folder to the
original one? in addition, my whole toolbar and "all programs" list have
refreshed, and all my bookmarks for internet explorer and mozilla have been
deleted.
help would be much appreciated.
thank you.
